American Competitiveness

Crucial to America's national security is the economic stability of our families.Jobs Expand family-supporting careers, pathways into the middle class and ladders up that meet people where they are, especially in the places that have been left out and overlooked. By continuing to invest in the industries of the future, we keep America on the cutting edge and cutting edge innovation made in America. At the same time, we must protect workers from being displaced or exploited by emerging technologies, support small businesses, family farms, and local entrepreneurial ventures to address community-specific challenges. Education The labor apprenticeship model, where people can earn while they learn a skilled trade, is one of the oldest, most successful workforce training models in America. Those pathways should be universally available starting in high school. While strengthening traditional trades, we should also be building ones into the high-tech future. Creating a universal credential system in fields like biotech and quantum will make it easier for people to up-skill and on-ramp according to personal needs and evolving technology. Bolstering access to learning and workforce training at community colleges can enable more people to participate and help us address the looming talent shortage in STEM.Lowering Costs Foster robust local economies, re-shore and secure supply chains, and cultivate industries domestically. Economic Security

Raising a family in America shouldn't be so hard.Choice The ability for families to prosper begins with a woman's right to choose. The government has no place in that decision. Strong families depend on local and affordable access to reproductive care, maternal care, pre and post natal, including compassionate miscarriage care, and mental health support. Care COVID claimed 1 million lives, millions more are suffering long haul effects. We need universal coverage and access. With the exorbitant debt required, and a Byzantine system limiting smart, compassionate people from becoming doctors, we need to re-imagine how we train and incentivize care providers. We must address the rural health care crisis by saving and expanding rural hospitals. Investments to make childcare and eldercare accessible are long overdue. Tech Colorado joined a handful of states with paid family and medical leave. That’s progress, but what about spending time with family when we're well? Americans have been working harder, producing more and taking home less for decades, working on average 200 hours more per year than folks in other developed countries.&nbsp;The COVID pandemic was a reckoning with values, like how we spend our time, and remote work showed us new possibilities. Now, with the rise of AI comes the promise that we will be able to do more in less time. But who's going to benefit? We have to make sure those gains benefit all of us instead of just a handful of people at the very top. Let's start the national discussion about one more day a week to be with the people we love.&nbsp;

Strong Families

Colorado's ability to grow, conserve, and connect impacts the nation, our success is America's success.Water With temperatures rising, downstream states increasing need, and outside developers looking to profit without thinking of long-term solutions, we need a leader who will work to protect and conserve our residential communities and our growers.Agriculture The upcoming farm bill is an opportunity to ensure our ranchers and farmers have what they need so we can all continue to eat. It's an opportunity to get creative as we collectively solve major challenges related to a changing climate.Infrastructure Strengthen the systems that connect us, like fast internet, reliable roads, safe rail, and renewable energy. Eastern Colorado is poised to become a world leader in large-scale energy transmission and storage.

This is a make-or-break moment for American democracyCivil Service These are the people who make the country run, they're not appointed, these are experts who earned their jobs through a competitive process. They don't make what they could in the private sector, these people choose to serve our country, about 2% work here in Colorado. There's a plan to gut them and replace them. Republican Rep. Ken Buck left Congress before the term ended. The special election to fill his vacancy is on June 25.Because more like Buck are resigning, with this seat, we have a chance to win majority of the House.And plot twist, Rep. Lauren Boebert had already decided to ditch her district, CO-3, to run here, CO-4.To run in the special election, Boebert would have to resign her seat. She said she won't. But she will run in the June 25 primary.That means, with your help, we defeat Greg Lopez win a House seat June 25. And then, we're going to keep this seat while defeating Lauren Boebert in November.

I'm a Colorado native who grew up in Sterling and Highlands Ranch. I was working in Washington, D.C. when my parents got sick. Thanks to my union, I was able to return home last fall to provide end-of-life care. Now, I'm running for Congress to restore abortion rights, defend Social Security and Medicare and to make Colorado a world leader in renewable energy and climate technology.
